  4. To sponsor fundraising events to provide for the benefit and welfare of the students and to provide for the administration of physical, mental and social education for the students of Yantacaw School.

Mission

Invest in Yantacaw and Build a Better Tomorrow! Yantacaw PTO is a powerful voice for all children, is a relevant resource for families, schools and communities, and a strong advocate for the well-being and education of each child.

Goals

  • Team Yantacaw - Together Everyone Achieves More. Create a team based organization open and inclusive to all those who would like to volunteer. Our team ethos includes respect, trust, and care for each other.

Delivery: The organization has created an Executive Board Ethos document and suggested all Executive Board members sign this document in July 2019. Volunteer roles and chair spots have been opened to all. A lottery selection for volunteers is now in place moving forward! Equal opportunity to apply for a volunteer spot has been created through a first come, first serve digital sign-up process for all eligible events.
  • Fundraising - The Boosterthon fundraiser will be a pledge-based donation drive with a net goal for our organization of $18,000. The Tricky Tray fundraiser will be a basket auction with a goal of $20,000. This funding will go toward programming operations, graduation year events and school gifts.

  • School Support - The PTO will hold Officer, Executive Board, and Membership Meetings monthly throughout the year to keep all parties connected. Meeting minutes will be posted for full organizational transparency.

  • Educational Presentations - The PTO will strive to have educational speakers at monthly PTO Membership Meetings. Delivery: Lice Be Gone, Tech Today, NJ Child Break

  • Teacher Support - In January, 2020 the PTO’s goal is to support teachers and students by connecting teacher wish lists with PTOs gifting donations.
Delivery: We have hit this goal earlier than planned! Kicking off with a $500+ scholastic book donation to Yantacaw School library and a $50 donation to the Random Acts of Kindness program led by Yantacaw School Nurse Mrs. Flannery. We have also donated almost $500 toward new tables for Mrs. Pied's Kindergarten room. In December 2019, we were able to fund $1,000+ of teacher wishes through a new program "Teachers Wishing Well"! We were also able to fund over $4,000 of new books through Scholastic Book Bucks!

  • Growth and Involvement- Increase new volunteer engagement and volunteer opportunities for Program Chairs volunteer positions through lottery draws and maxing program chairs at 1-2 years.

  • Communications- Create official nonprofit organizational domains, email addresses, online tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets). In Fall 2019, a non-profit website was created YantacawPTO.org! We also now have official ".org" email address for all members of the Executive Board and for Program Chairs. These emails can be passed on to future members so a legacy of information can be transitioned!

  • Technology - Customized contact database, volunteer forms and website  The long term goal is 100% use throughout Yantacaw PTO executive board leadership. Increase PTO communication through mobile apps. Limit social media as the "main" PTO communication tool to increase privacy and security for our members. Members do not need access to Facebook to receive communications. The website is active and has updated information. Position Facebook as a Community/Cause non-profit communication tool.
  • S.T.E.A.M. Programming - The PTO is looking to increase STEAM driving programming offerings. Delivery: Three new clubs have been started at Yantacaw School in 2019: STEAM, Creative Writing and Drama! PTO supports purchases for these clubs to operate.
