JUNIOR OLYMPICS

This event is for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Students wear to school their Yantacaw Olympics T-shirt. (These are given to the students by the PTO). Selected 5th and 6th graders compete in various athletic competitions held in the Oval. All students will walk from Yantacaw School to the Oval during the morning. All five elementary schools in Nutley are represented that morning and compete against each other. An award ceremony is held for those groups and/or individuals who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the various events. All 4th graders sit in the stands to cheer and also those 5th and 6th graders who are not competing. After the award ceremony all students walk back to Yantacaw School where the PTO provides a pizza lunch for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students.
